Get it together and save some time doing it

Hello! Welcome back. Summer break is in full swing here and I am loving it! Things are starting to open up where we are and life is starting to feel normal again. My husband and I have slowed down on the DIY around the house and really started to enjoy being outside. We are gearing up to take a trip soon to see our closest friends all the way in West Virginia. We will be driving which I'm oddly excited for.
Any who lets dive into some tech tips.

This week I want to talk about organization and some time saving resources because we all need those in our life pandemic or not. 😜

My first tool I learned about was PlanbookEdu.
As some of you know I am a traveling teacher. I don't have my own classroom in the building I teach. In some ways I enjoy this as the change in scenery is nice but in others ways I struggle and become frustrated. Due to my hopping around I have really tried to go digital or paperless as much as possible. It makes my set-up in each class much smoother and I don't have to worry about replicating that set-up multiple times. But I have yet to find a great solution for my planner which I live and die by. Until today!
Check out this video about PlanbookEdu.

Pretty cool huh?

I plan on converting my pen and paper planner to this digital one over the summer. The best part is you can share you planbook with co-workers and even attach files and standards. Its not just a simple planner or calendar it helps keep your professional thoughts in one place while planning out your week or year.

Below is a tutorial on how to use PlanbookEdu

As an art teacher I am using rubrics constantly. I found a Google Docs add on that allows you to create rubrics and seamlessly grade within that add-on as well. Its called OrangeSlice. I know there are a ton of rubric creators out there on the web but I have yet to see one that allows to use it digitally. Check out this video about it below.

As a traveling teacher I love this digital way to use a rubric. I also have students turn their work in digitally which cuts down and having to haul over a hundred pieces of art work to my office or worse home. Then hoping I get them all back to school in one piece and back to the right kiddo. OrangeSlice will definitely save me time when grading. Who wants to spend more time grading?

I created an Adobe Spark page about some more teacher tools I love. Check it out here.

Nothing feels better when you've got things organized and somewhere you can find them. I hope you found a tool that excites you and one you can use in your professional life.

Well dinner is calling! Have a great week and get outside! Its sweet sweet summer time!
